SoOOoOOooO Sorry this took so long to post, Enjoy!!
After the football game on Saturday, we were all craving pizza. I called to see how long it would be to get it delivered and the wait was like an hour and a half. Ok, no. We couldn't wait that long so we decided to check out this one pizza place that is next door to us. We have never been there but there is a big sign on it that says Gold Medal Pizza so we went to check it out.
When we walked up the stairs there was a huge room, with tons of tables with phones set up...but no pizza! We walked in looking very confused and just kept asking the guy there where the pizza was? He never really answered, he just kept saying that they had free hot dogs and soda...WE DON'T WANT HOT DOGS!! He just kept talking about how we should stay and make phone calls for the Republican National Committee. We were all so confused, and didn't understand where the Pizza was. After much confusion and complaints about there being no pizza the nice man made us an offer. If we would stay and make phone calls until 9(which was about an hour) he would buy us pizza! WHY NOT?!?
We all sat down at a table with a phone got a sheet of numbers and a sample survey and began calling. Not many people answered, but when they did some fun conversations occurred...
Cory: Is Campa there? uhhhh, is James Campa there...I mean, is James There??

Kylie: Hello, I'm calling with the Republican National Committee and was wond...*interuption*..."I'm Catholic!?!"
Kasidy: Hello is April there?
April: What give you the right to call me by my first name? Do you know how late it is?
Kasidy: Well, I'm just making phone calls for the Republican National Committee.
April: You need to stop calling people so late at night and get a new job!
Kasidy: Uhhh, I'm a volunteer?

All the people we called were from New Mexico and 65 and older. It was funny to hear their responses to the survey and their random comments.
Now for the Saving part:
The call center had been opened all weekend, and they needed to make 3000 calls before 9 o'clock in order to stay open and for the people there to keep their jobs. Before we wandered in they had only 2000 some calls and only two people making phone calls. They had been saying to each other that if only 6 more people would walk in then they could make it to 3000 calls. That's where we came in!! We were their saving grace...with our help they were able to make 3083 by 9 o'clock. Just a little miracle! They were so glad we had wandered in and we were glad for the free pizza. We signed the volunteer board and got some free shirts, cups, Frisbees, and bumper stickers.
Yay For Us!!
